Whirlpool concerns in a filtering system online?

The black you see is coal used for coal smell and taste of water. Remove the cycle until the first harvest that the ice cubes and water in the dispenser are clear. The ice and water is safe to drink your device. If you do not believe it, take it to your company local water for testing, I think the WPL water filters are approved by NSF, which is the National Sanitation Foundation, located in Ann Arbor, MI. NSF is the authority when it comes to drinking water.
