What causes the magnetic induction heat metal up to 2000 degrees?

Watching "Modern Marvels: Axes" on the Discovery Channel said magnetic induction has been used to heat the ax to 2000 degrees before drilling the hole has the ax. How it works?

Induction heating occurs because an alternating magnetic field induces an electric current through anything that conducts electricity in the magnetic field. Everyone metals conduct electricity (by definition) and all metals have a certain electrical resistivity in normal (superconducting metals in many special conditions which means that actually have zero electrical resistance). Therefore, induction heating is actually resistance heating. The induction field induces electric currents in the metal part (which is known as eddy currents) and the electrical resistance of metal to the flow of currents to generate heat. The nature of the eddy currents created depends on three things, the resistivity of metal (which increases with increasing temperature of the metal), the magnetic field intensity, and the frequency with which changes the magnetic field (alternating or changing only the magnetic fields induce eddy currents). Induction high frequency (such as radio frequency) is warmer than the surface. Low frequency penetrates deeper into the room. Induction heating is used in many application, since it basically only heats the room, you can heat the room very quickly and can be heated to very high temperature (Induction heating is used in many mergers).
