Using the timer Digital Rebel XT (Canon 350D)?

How can I set the timer? And after setting it up, May you just keep taking pictures at regular intervals, or should I keep the shutter every time …. and nobody can explain in simple terms, how Apatura adjust and everything must be configured for self-portraits? I use my manual, but we are temporarily living outside the boxes while the remodeling and I remember that my box is manual, thank you!

there are no open environment is best for self-portraits, all depends of available light, with or without using the flash, so if you do not know how to use controls, read the instructions! thats what for. or simply keep in the car or use the portrait setting (the person in the small dial on the top of the camera). so that the timer, there is a button on the camera that has a small photo of a clock / timer next to the press and you can choose 10 seconds to 2 minutes. Just do not forget to save again when the fact of using the timer.
